Festive season is upon us





As we move towards the end of the year,we reflect on nursing news that made  ripples to nursing community in South Africa.We compiled some  highlights that we think are something to remember for the year 2018,Good or bad.What’s your view_?

Charlotte Maxeke Academic hospital(Joburg Gen) workers embarked on riot.This followed unpaid performance bonuses. Hospital services were halted as hospital came to a standstill due to  protest believed to be led by Nehawu.

Denosa members wanted Motsoaledi to go. They blame the minister of overlooking nurses challenges,and not consulting nurses in matters concerning them.The issue was raised during Denosa executive meeting in Arcadia,Pretoria.Though we know kicking the health minister will require a lot of efforts,it was a demand that more nurses seemed to relate with.

Gauteng nurses embarked on uniform allowance protest:By not wearing their uniform,pending payment of uniform allowance,the motive was to pressurize the provincial authority to hasten uniform allowance payments. Unions blamed the provincial health department of failing to act within the directive of Public Service and Administration department,to pay uniform allowances in time

Man is seen verbally assaulting nurse on a video:On one of the videos that went viral,the man is seen verbally assaulting a nurse and tapping her on the shoulder at Vaalwater clinic.The man was later arrested.

Nelisa cele 31 ,found by Johannesburg tourist, dead near Port Shepstone ;she was pregnant and enrolled at Gamalakhe Community Healthcare Center

Mr Emmanuel Mthokozisi Shabane and Mr Siphosakhe Sabelo Mbiko(KZN) was involved in tragic accident in eastern cape .They worked in eNtabeni clinic.

Sr Nothando Biyela We recently lost Sr Biyela following the attack by robbers in Melmoth,Kwazulu natal,her stolen car was later found abandoned in Eshowe
